Top 3 Homeschooling Tips for September
These three homeschooling tips from mom-of-four (boys!) and 9-year veteran homeschool teacher will help you start the year well.
They’re all here, in this super fast video.
Summary:
Homeschool Tip #1:
You do you. This is YOUR journey. Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, the blogosphere, ebooks and more all have great ideas. But I give you freedom right now to do what works for your family.
Homeschool Tip #2:
Build and maintain a love of learning. For my family, this means we have to ease into the year. (Refer to homeschool tip #1 . . . this may or may not be crucial for your family.)
Homeschool Tip #3:
February sucks. Plan for it. (Seriously, if you don’t believe me, do a quick search for “Homeschooling in February.” I personally like this blog post about it.)

Planner Template
Here is my Student Planner Template. It includes the one-page calendar (August 2020 – May 2021) as well as goal setting pages, daily and weekly planner pages, gratitudes, inspirational quotes and more.
My Father’s World
We use My Father’s World for our core curriculum. I really love that it has a family cycle. That means that everybody (I have 4 boys) is learning about the same things for history, science, and Bible, but they are doing work at their own level. It is a lifesaver—or maybe a sanity saver.
